KAIST가 속해 있는 ASPIRE League의 멤버 대학인 난양공대(Nanyang Technological University, NTU)에서 개최하는 제2회 UG Research Academy에 참가할 학생을 아래와 같이 모집합니다.

참가를 희망하는 학생은 신청 서류를 5월 13일(수)까지 학과 사무실(김세림, x3902)로 제출하시기 바랍니다.

    1. ASPIRE League 개요:

      - ASPIRE (Asian Science and Technology Pioneering Institutes of Research and Education): KAIST, 홍콩과학기술대학 (HKUST), 난양공대 (NTU), 칭화대, 동경공대 간 과학기술 발전을 통한 아시아의 혁신을 위한 허브를 구축하고자 설립한 컨소시움.

    2. 행사명: UG Research Academy (ASPIRE League 활동)

    3. 주제 (분야): Energy Challenges and Solutions in a Sustainable World

    4. 목적:

      - ASPIRE League에 속해 있는 멤버 대학들의 학부 학생들을 초청하여 전문가로부터 재생 에너지에 관련된 최신 기술을 배우고 자신의 연구 프로젝트를 다른 학생들에게 발표하며 체험 및 학습을 통해 사례연구.

    5. 기간 및 세부일정:

      - 2015년 7월 12일(일) ~ 7월 15일(수)

      - 세부일정은 첨부파일 참조하여 주시길 바랍니다.

    6. 선발인원: KAIST에서 재학중인 학부생 5명 

    7. 선발기준:

      - 현재 교수지도하에 진행되는 연구과제를 수행중인 학생 (Energy Challenges and Solutions in a Sustainable World 분야)

      - 영어로 능숙하게 발표할 수 있는 학생

    8. 선발(안):

      - 서류전형 (1차): 영문 자기소개서, 영문 연구 요약본 및 관련자료, 영문 성적증명서, 어학성적표 사본 또는 영어 능력을 증명하는 자료 각 1부

      - 영어 프레젠테이션 평가 (2차): KAIST 교수 3-4인으로 구성된 심사위원단이 동연구에 대한 학생의 프레젠테이션을 듣고 직접 평가함.

    9. 선발일정(안):

     - 2015년 5월 13일(수): 서류접수 마감

      - 2015년 5월 18일(월): 연구 프로젝트 프레젠테이션 평가

      - 2015년 5월 21일(목): 결과발표

    10. 제출서류:

      - 성적증명서

      - 어학성적표 사본 또는 영어능력을 증명하는 자료

      - 영문 자기소개서

      - 영문 연구 요약본 및 관련자료 1부

      * 프레젠테이션 평가 관련 자세한 일정은 서류심사 합격자들에게 추후 안내 예정.

    11. 지원내용:

      - 난양공대측에서 싱가폴내 숙박비, 식비 등 지원

      - KAIST에서 항공료 (왕복) 지원 (이코노미)

      - 여행자 보험 및 기타 여행비용은 학생 본인부담

Nanyang Technological University (NTU), a member of the ASPIRE League in which KAIST also belongs to, is hosting the 2nd UG Research Academy. Students who would like to participate in the program, please submit the required documents to the department office (Serim Kim, x3902) by May 13, 2015.

    1. About the ASPIRE League
        - ASPIRE (Asian Science and Technology Pioneering Institutes of Research and Education): a consortium that has been established to form a hub for innovation in Asia through the advancements of science and technology between Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Tsinghua University, and Tokyo Institute of Technology.

    2. Name of the program: UG Research Academy (ASPIRE League activity)

    3. Theme (field of study): Energy Challenges and Solutions in a Sustainable World

    4. Purpose:

      - To provide opportunities for students to learn from experts on the latest technologies related to renewable energy and present their research projects with the objective of sharing and obtaining knowledge through case studies.

    5. Schedule:

      - July 12, 2015 (Sunday) to July 15 (Wednesday)

    6. Number of students to be nominated: 5 undergraduate students who are currently enrolled as full-time students

    7. Eligibility:

      - Students who are currently doing a research project under or related to the mentioned field (Energy Challenges and Solutions in a Sustainable World)

      - Students with strong English proficiency and can give a smooth, clear presentation in English 

    8. Selection process:

      - Required documents to be submitted to the International Relations Team

      - Selected applicants will give a presentation to 3-4 KAIST professors who will evaluate the students' research project

    9. Schedule for selection (proposed)

     - May 13 (Wednesday): Deadline for submitting documents

      - May 18 (Monday): Presentation evaluation

      - May 21 (Thursday): Results to be announced

   10. Required documents to be submitted:

      - English CV

      - Summary of the student' research project

      - KAIST transcript (printed out in English)

      - English proficiency test scores (original or copy)

      * Selected applicants will be notified by the International Relations Team regarding the specific schedule for the presentation evaluation

   11. Financial support for students

      - NTU will provide accommodation and food expenses

      - KAIST will provide roundtrip air fare (economy class)

      - Students will be responsible for travel insurance and other travel expenses
