KAIST EEWS (Energy, Environment, Water & Sustainability) 기획단의 2011 국제 워크샵 시리즈의 하나로서, “Organic Solar Cells: KAIST EEWS Workshop 2011 (유기태양전지 KAIST EEWS 워크샵 2011)” 을 아래와 같이 개최하고자 합니다.

상대적으로 낮은 효율로 시작되었던 유기태양전지는 10% 효율 진입을 눈 앞에 두고 있을 정도로 급속한 성장을 이루었고, 현재는 상용화의 첫걸음을 내딛기 위한 심호흡을 고르고 있습니다. 이럴 때 일수록, 각계의 연구자들이 지식과 전문성을 융합해야 할 때가 아닌가 싶습니다. 이러한 노력의 하나로, 본 워크샵에서는 최근 8% 유기 태양전지의 핵심소재를 개발한 Luping Yu 교수 (시카고 대학) 등 국내외 산,학,연의 석학들을 한 자리에 모셨습니다.

유기 태양전지의 이론, 소재 등 기초 분야에서부터, 응용, 상용화, 그리고 나노 기술의 융합에 이르기까지 유기 태양전지의 다양한 측면이 다루어질 예정입니다. 여러 일로 바쁘시겠지만, 본 워크샵이 유기 태양전지 분야의 발전을 위한 교류와 협력의 장이 될 수 있도록 많은 협조와 참여 부탁 드리겠습니다. 감사합니다.
