Prof. Hee-Tae Jung of our department was elected as a new member of the National Academy of Engineering of Korea (NAEK). NAEK is a professional organization with high prestige in Korea. The organization aims to improve industrial competitiveness and to cultivate human resources through activities such as selecting the top 100 technologies and industrial leaders in Korea. Currently, NAEK has a total of 1131 members, including 285 elected members, 343 general members, 71 foreign members, and 432 emeritus members.
Each year, new elected members to NAEK are selected from general members who have shown outstanding achievements in research from universities, research institutions, and companies. The elected membership to NAEK is considered as the equivalent of induction to the "Hall of Fame" in the field of Engineering in Korea. Outside of Korea, the NAEK membership receives recognition from 27 foreign countries around the world.
Prof. Jung is currently a KAIST Chair Prof.. He is also the director of KAIST Institute for Nanocentury (KINC). He has published more than 200 articles and numerous domestic and international patents. He is recognized as a leading scientist in the field of organic opto-electronics.
