이번 초청연사는  Korea Brain Research Institute의 Kevin W. McCairn 박사님이시며,

"Common Therapeutic Mechanisms of Pallidal Deep Brain Stimulation for Hypo- and Hyperkinetic Movement Disorders" 를 주제로 강연해주실 예정이십니다.

The aim of this seminar and contrast the PD and TS nonhuman primateand why the same treatmentHF-DBS targeted to the globus pallidus internus, GPi-DBS) is capable of ameliorating both symptom profiles.
Recent studies have shown that therapeutic GPi-DBS entrains the spiking of neurons located in the vicinity of the stimulating electrode, resulting in strong stimulus-locked modulations in firing probability normalizes/suppresses the pathological dysrhythmia that. of pathological dysrhythmia provides a common therapeutic mechanism through which HF-DBS can ameliorate conditions with widely different symptom profiles.
